Battle hymns MMXI

Bänd otsustas, et nende fännid on ära teeninud võimaluse kuulda lugusid debüütalbumilt Battle Hymns uues kuues ning andsid vanale heale esikplaadile uue hinguse.

Due for release at the end of November 2010, Battle Hymns will soon be available with the unbridled power of today’s technology: Battle Hymns 2011.

With the decision to reinterpret the music came the need to revisit the famed narration of the legendary Orson Welles. There was only one obvious choice and that was Sir Christopher Lee. Recorded at the famed Abbey Road Studios in London, his own inspired interpretation of the late, great Orson Welles on “Dark Avenger” will be another jewel in the crown of the Kings Of Metal.

MANOWAR Bassist and Producer Joey DeMaio stated: “My personal admiration for Sir Christopher began many years ago while watching his films. It increased when I was honored to produce him as a singer and as a narrator and we became friends instantly. Immediately after hearing the sheer power and range of his voice I thought I should write a narration; I never imagined we would ever rerecord Battle Hymns – but here we are and it is massive.”

Battle Hymns 2011 will feature two never released before live versions of “Death Tone” and “Fast Taker” recorded during the band’s very first concerts in 1982. These are the rarest bonus materials ever released to date in MANOWAR’s career.

“Our fans can be sure that we have squeezed every drop of power into Battle Hymns 2011 that today’s technology allows”, says vocalist Eric Adams.

Sir Christopher Lee ühendab jõud MANOWARiga

Teda kummardavad filmi- ja teatrifännid üle kogu maailma. Ta räägib mitut keelt ladusalt ning on tuntud laulja ooperis ning samuti metal-muusikas. Ta on löödud rüütliks Inglismaa kuninganna poolt ja saanud arvukalt auhindu.

Uuendus Bulgaariast – Joey DeMaio kohtus Sofia linnapeaga

The Mayor of Sofia, Yordanka Fandakova, met with Joey DeMaio in a private session to discuss the great Bulgarian fans and their metal scene.

Joey signed the city’s Book of Honor with the following text “To the beautiful city of Sofia and to the most beautiful mayor I have ever met and in the world”

Joey, who is a great fan of Bulgaria had been in Sofia for the last several days, wanted to get acquainted with the Mayor of the city. “I’m a real fan and this meeting with you makes me really excited.” – said Fandakova during her conversation with the bassist in the City Hall.

She said that it was important for all cultural happenings in the capital to attract not only visitors from Bulgaria but from other countries as well. “The Bulgarian fans had to travel abroad in previous years. It will be nice if this changes.” – said Mrs Fandakova. The Mayor supported Joey’s idea to honor the young Bulgarian fan and a friend of the band, Joro Panaiotov, who recently passed away. “I like your country and the people so much, it’s a rock-country” – said Joey. MANOWAR have the greatest fans here, according to his words.

“We are very excited because we can get involved in the cultural activities of Bulgaria” – specified the bassist. He promised to take part in future rock festivals in Sofia. The Mayor, Yordanka Fandakova, gave the famous musician a plaque, a disc containing Bulgarian folk songs and an album about the old city of Sofia with pictures by Ober Bauer. While in Sofia, Joey also visited the legendary Nu Boyana film studios where the new film Conan was recently completed and also where The Expendables starring Sylvester Stallone was filmed.

Power metali kuningad – Helloween Rock Cafe-s

13. detsembril astub Rock Cafe lavalaudadele Euroopa üks mõjukaimaid heavy metal bände HELLOWEEN. Power metal muusikastiili loojad ja selle jõulised esindajad saabuvad Tallinnasse 9. novembril ilmuva uue kauamängiva “The 7 Sinners” toetuseks.

1980-date aastate algul Saksamaal loodud bändi HELLOWEEN peetakse Euroopa üheks tähelepanuväärseimaks heavy metali stiili esindajaks ning power metali loojaks. Juba oma esimese albumiga “Walls of Jericho” tõusis Helloween komeedina Euroopa muusikataevasse ning on püsinud seal üle 25. aasta. Ilmselt on Helloweeni erinevad albumid, eriti aga 1987. Aastal ilmunud “Keeper of the Seven Keys, Pt. 1” inspireerinud kõiki hilisemaid metal-bändide generatsioone.

HELLOWEENi karjääri on varjutanud ka keerulisemad ajad, mil vahetati plaadifirmasid ja bändi ka koosseisus toimus mitmeid muudatusi. 1990-date keskpaiku said mehed hakkama hiilgava albumiga “The Time of the Oath”, mida peetakse bändi üheks õnnestunuimaks kauamängivaks.

Tänaseks on Helloween välja andnud 18 plaati, mis on üle maailma müünud üle 5 miljoni eksemplari ning pälvinud 14 kuldplaadi ja 6 plaatinaalbumi auhinda. Helloween jätkab oma tugevat tõusuperioodi andes 2010. aasta alguses välja omanäolise ning kriitikute poolt ülistatud “Unarmed – Best of 25th Anniversary” albumi, millel kõlasid Helloweeni loomingu parimad palad uudses ja tihti ootamatus võtmes.

9. novembril ilmub bändi uus album “The 7 Sinners”, mille toetuseks alustatakse ka maailmaturneed, mis algab 23. novembril Austriast ning jõuab kõigi fännide suureks rõõmuks juba 13. detsembril Tallinnasse, klubisse Rock Cafe. Helloween saabub Tallinnasse koosseisus Andi Deris (vokaal), Michael Weikath (kitarr), Sascha Gerstner (kitarr), Markus Grosskopf (basskitarr) ja Daniel Löble (trummid). Bändi liikmed ütlevad, et neil on uue albumi suhtes ääretult positiivne tunne ja lubavad jõulist power metali live kontserti, kus lisaks uue albumi materjalile lisavad vürtsi vanemad hitid.

Piletid 13. detsembril Rock Cafes toimuvale HELLOWEENi kontserdile tulevad vabamüüki sellel neljapäeval, 7. oktoobril, kell 10.00 Ticketpro ja Piletilevi internetipoodides ja müügikohtades.
